Why good parents are taking plastic toys from their children, and why you should too!

I know it sounds hard to believe but in droves parents are pitching the typical toys in the trash and going back to the toys that withstand the test of time!

Dr. Shanna Swans work

Award winner and leading reproductive epidemiologist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City has all but declared plastic the new lead paint. A product trend that caught on fast and spread long before its far-reaching side effects were known. After years of research, they have declared plastics in day-to-day products as toxic due to the phthalates they leach into our bodies.

Reproductive diseases, hormone imbalances, etc.

Worldwide fertility has dropped by more than 50% in the last 50 years – since the adoption of plastics. a man today is less than half as fertile as his grandfather. This is permanent damage we’re doing that is harming our children and stealing their futures. “Toxic chemicals in our environment are being linked to a decline in fertility and sexual development among humans and animals alike, and the time to act is now.” Mice exposed to these chemicals saw a sharp drop in the ability to reproduce and massive uptick in diseases relating to the reproductive organs.

Our Mission

We’re focusing on the earliest stage where children are exposed to these chemicals – their toys. The toys we make are 100% natural, non-toxic and child friendly – which cannot be said for other wooden toys, typically sealed with plastic based finishes and paints that completely defeat their purpose. To have a truly safe toy you must use the things we have always used, pure wood and a beeswax finish. The style loved by crunchy parents everywhere is now taking the mainstream by storm. Caretakers who want their children to one day have the choice to share in the happiness brought by raising a family and living a healthy prosperous life are doing everything in their power to reduce plastics early in their lives, starting with their toys!
